Making Smoothies

I recently got a new blender and wanted to test it out, and what better way than to make a delicious smoothie? Here's what I made.

Ingredients:
Strawberries
Banana
Ice
Cranberry juice
(There aren't particular quantities, I just improvised)

Method

Chop up the strawberries and put them  in the blender with the ice

Blend it until it's smooth

Add the cranberry juice and blend it again (not too much)

Add the banana and blend

Pour the smoothie into cups ( Yes i used Starbucks cups. Don't judge me)

This smoothie was delicious, and it is the perfect drink for relaxing on a hot day. I hope you like the recipe

The Night Circus Book Review

When I first heard about this book I was intrigued. I had never really read any books about a circus before and I really wanted to read it. The beginning was slightly confusing, but once I started to understand what was going on and got to know the characters a bit more I absolutely loved it. I didn't get bored once and I could hardly put the book down at all. It is a really unique book and the story isn't like anything else I've ever read before. Usually there is at least one thing that annoys me in a book, but there wasn't in 'The Night Circus'. It is one of my favourite books of 2014 so far, and I've read quite a lot this year. If anyone is looking for something different to read I would definitely give this a try.

Sorry that this post is so short. I'll be back soon with a longer one.

April Favourites

This month has gone so quickly! It seems like yesterday that I published my March favourites! Anyway, here are my favourites for the month of April.

Revlon Colorburst Showy Matte Lipstick
At the moment I've been trying to wear more bright lipsticks, as it is spring, and I have loads of them. This hot pink colour has definitely been my favourite one this month and is perfect to add a pop of colour to an outfit. Its such a fun colour and perfect for spring and summer.

Primark PS Love Nail Polish Twist Pot
I hate taking off my nail varnish will normal nail varnish remover. Its messy and requires a lot of cotton wool. This twist pot allows you to take it off just by putting your finger in and twisting it round. Its very good at it's job too, and for a pound you can't really go wrong. Its also the perfect thing to just remove the nail varnish from one nail if you make a mistake, instead of ruining all your nails with the remover.

CLIPPER Cranberry and Raspberry Tea
I absolutely love fruit teas, and this is definitely one of my all time favourites. Cranberry and Raspberry is my favourite flavour, and I've never found one more delicious than this. It's worth a try for any tea drinkers looking for something new. I know I'll be going out to get some more!

American Horror Story
I started watching this just under 2 weeks ago, and I've already finished all 3 seasons (Murder house, Asylum and Coven). It is one of the best TV shows that I've discovered in a long time. I was told to watch it loads of times by my friends and on Tumblr, so eventually I did. I am so glad. I would suggest that anyone into the horror genre should watch this ( It's not that scary, but it's kind of violent).

Thanks for reading. See you soon!

Country Side Fun

Last weekend I went to Hertfordshire with my mum to see some family friends and I had a lovely time so I thought I'd write a post about it. On Saturday, we had a picnic in a beautiful park. There was a ridiculous amount of food!

Its kind of a bad photo, I know- sorry.
It got really windy and cold so we all decided to go back to the house to have tea and cake, but It was still a good picnic.

On Sunday we had a very relaxing day. We spent a few hours sitting in a really nice pub. We sat outside as the weather was brilliant.

I had this cider which was really nice.

In the late afternoon, we decided to go for a walk along the river. It was still really sunny and the river was really pretty.

I had a really good weekend and I hope everyone else did something nice over Easter.
I'll be back soon with another post

I Can't Sing

You may have been expecting a post about my singing voice, but sorry (or not sorry) this is not that post and there won't ever be one. This post is about the musical currently showing at the Palladium called 'I can't sing'. It's basically an X-factor spoof and was written by Harry Hill, so I was expecting it to be very funny. After a bit of shopping on Oxford street and an Apple flavoured bubble tea I was ready to go into the theatre.

I apologise for the bad quality Snapchat photo.

Let me just say that very funny was a complete understatement. Me and the friend I went with were almost falling off our chairs and crying with laughter! I was utterly speechless afterwards. As well as being hilariously funny, the standard of the singing, dancing, acting and music was very good. I very much recommend going to see it if you're looking for a more light-hearted musical. However I must say that if you've never seen x-factor you probably won't understand a lot of the humour.

Being the cool person that I am, I couldn't resist getting a few cast members to sign my programme at the stage door after the show. I only ended up getting two autographs as I didn't want to wait around for ages but to be honest I didn't really mind.

I had a really good day out and I hope everyone else is having a good time as well.
I'll see you soon with another post

Divergent Film Review

*** WARNING-SPOILERS AHEAD***

I've been a big fan of the Divergent trilogy since I first started reading the books, so I was obviously very excited to see the film. I've been waiting impatiently since the premiere last week and I have to say I was in no way disappointed! I was always expecting the film to be good, but it was absolutely amazing. Apart from a few small changes it was very true to the book. I loved how they adapted it and the acting was brilliant. The music added a lot of emotion and drama to the film, which I also loved. If the music isn't good it really irritates me. However, I would have been happier if Will had had a bigger part, as the lack of a connection the audience make him dramatically lessens how emotional his death is. Despite this, I still absolutely loved the film, and with book adaptations, it really can go either way. There was so much action involved that when I left the cinema I felt like I could run a marathon and I could hardly sit still on the bus home. Overall, it was much better than I thought it would be. It really brought the book to life and I'm definitely going to consider going to the cinema to see it again. I would 100% recommend that everyone go and see it, but please read the book first!

March Favourites

I've been debating doing monthly favourites posts but I couldn't decide if it would be of much interest to anyone. despite that, I thought I'd give it a shot. So... here are my favourites for the month of March.

Gilly Hicks Rosebery opal perfume
This is far and away my favourite perfume and is a beautiful sweet scent perfect for spring/summer which I absolutely love! I would wear it everyday if it wasn't for the fact that I can't seem to find any, no matter which Gilly Hicks shop I go to. Hopefully I'll be able to get it eventually but if I can't I'll be very sad.

Garnier intensive 7 day nourishing hand cream
I generally find that I get quite dry hands so I'm always on the lookout for a good hand cream. This Garnier leaves my hands feeling smooth, soft and silky. With it's delicious mango scent and amazing the moisture it gives my hands, its got to be my favourite hand cream that I've tried so far. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who wants a fast acting hand cream to free them from the burden of dry hands.

Jordans Frusli bars
Now on to my food favourite of the month. I was introduced to these bars by my friend Ruby, who eats them all the time. My favourite flavour is definitely cranberry and apple (it has no sultanas, and they are eww). They are deliciously sweet and perfect to pop in your bag as you are leaving the house as part of
your lunch or as a healthy snack. Sometimes I find myself wanting to take more than one with me wherever I go as they are just so yummy!

Dance Academy
Lately I've been watching a lot of stuff on Netflix, and I've managed to watch all 3 seasons of Dance Academy during March alone. Being a dancer myself, I really enjoyed watching it and I often find myself longing to go to a full time dance school (even more than I usually do). I would definitely recommend giving it a watch. Even if dance doesn't interest you, there is a very interesting plot throughout each episode.

I'll be back with another post soon

Divergent Premiere

I've been thinking about starting a blog for a while now and I've finally decided to give it a go. So... I'm Yasmine, I'm 15 and I'm from London.

On Sunday, I dragged my self out of bed (I was excited, just really tired) at 6:30 to go to the Divergent premiere in Leicester square with my friend. I was number 87 in the queue- a success in my book.

I had to wait a good few hours for the premiere to start so, after I got my number,I treated myself to a hot chocolate and a lemon muffin from Costa coffee.

The premiere kicked off at 1:45, with Veronica Roth arriving first, closely followed by Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Kate Winslet and other cast members. I managed to get myself some photos and autographs which sent me into over-excited mode.

Unfortunately, I didn't get photos with or autographs from Kate and Theo, but I was lucky enough to meet YouTubers Tanya Burr and Jim Chapman, who were really lovely. I dropped my pen and Jim picked it up for me- an small action, but I was really happy.

I had a brilliant Sunday and I really enjoyed my first premiere (yes first). I hope everyone had as good a weekend as I did!

I'll see you soon with a new post x
